Today's exaltation brought to you by: yeast, water & flour
Today I discovered that the fine folks who presented us with "The King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion," (that exhaustive and logically displayed — not to mention nationally recognized — baking tome) also offer well-presented lessons in schools, across the nation and online. Free. As in, no charge. Nifty, right?
I'd imagine baking students might be encouraged to purchase King Arthur flour. This seems a small sacrifice... after all, it's a quality product (it's what I prefer to buy anyway) and it's not as though they're pressuring you to invest your precious nickels in shady real estate. Flour is cheap.
Though there's no classes scheduled near dear old NYC at the moment (those lucky Georgians!), online offerings include illustrated lessons in the classics as well as seasonally appropriate skills: gingerbread house architecture and yule log construction. Yay!
Rouse the proletariat! Flour to the people!
